Notlar Ms. codex.Title from inscription on fol. 2a.Physical description: 25 lines per page. Written in small taʻlīq in black ink with use of red. The text is framed within a single red line or a double red line, up to fol. 87a. The ḥāshiyah is framed within a single red line on some leaves. Ḥāshiyah written so as to create a geometrical or vegetal motif on fol. 17a-21a, with gold. Light cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines visible. Fol. 1-2 are later additions on European paper. Several ḥāshiyah on the margins, apparently by the same hand as the main text. Inscription in Arabic script mentioning the price of the ms. on fol. 1a. Inscription mentioning several dates on the upper corner of fol. 3a.Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Lisān 7". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 976".Origin: Copy completed on Yawm al-khamīs 25 Shaʻbān 889 [Sept. 17, 1484] (colophon, fol. 174a).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى الهمنا حقايق المعانى ودقايق البيان وخصصنا ببدايع الايادى ... وبعد فان احق الفضايل بالتقديم واسبقها فى استيجاب التعظيم هو التجلى بحقايق العلوم والمعارف ... [5ب] ... بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله افتتح كتابه بعد التيمن بالتسمية بحمد الله سبحانهExplicit: يظهر ذلك بالتامل مع التذكر لما تقدم من الاصول المذكورة فى الفنون الثلاثة وتفاصيل ذلك مما لا يقى لها الدفاتر بل لا يمكن الاطلاع على كنهها الا لعلام الغيوب هذا اخر ما اردنا جمعه من الفوايد ونظمه من الفرايد مع توزع البال و ...؟ الاحوال وتفاقم الاحزان والمحن وتكاثر الافزاع والفتن وتواتر حوادث ... لكن الله جلت حكمته قد وفقنا الاتمام وحق لنا الفوز بهذا المرام والحمد لله ولي الانعام والصلوة على سيدنا محمد وآله وعليهم السلام انه الكريمIncipit text fol. 107b: ان احسن ما يرجى عن افاضل العلماء رعاية رفيعهم لوضيعهم بعنايات وكرامات منضمة - Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers have a gold stamped and brown-painted central mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis, and an outer border consisting of gilt fillets and guilloche. Red brown leather doublure with a gilt fillet border and a central interlace motif forming a square on its pointe on a vertical chain. Later added fly-leaf, with one side in glossy dark magenta. - Commentary on Talkhīṣ al-Miftāḥ by Jalāl al-Dīn al-Qazwīnī (d. 739/1338), an abridgment of part 3 of Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm by al-Sakkākī (d. 626/1229), on al-Maʻānī wa-al-bayān. This copy has several ḥāshiyah on the margins and between the lines of the main text. On fol. 3a are short texts written so as to create several circles. The text is followed on fol. 107b by a short text by a later hand.
