Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "521/2 ḥ".Incipit: الحمد لله الذي اودع رقوم الحروف بدايع اسراره وركب منها معاني اسمائه وفجر فيها ينابيع الاعداد ... اما بعد فقد سالني بعض المحبين ابان الله لي ولهم معالم التحقيق وسلك بنا وبهم مناهج اهل التحقيق ان اضع لهم كتابا فى سر علم الحروف وروحانية الاسماء وما كتموه ارباب هذا الشان من اسرار صنعة الحكماء ومواهب العلماء ... الباب الاول في سر الحروف حرف الالف صورته هذاExplicit: يقول لك الساعة الفلانية والطالع الفلاني يجتمع معه في اليوم الفلاني و...؟ مما يعتمد عليه وبالله تعالى التوفيق لا رب غيره ولا معبود بالحق سواه وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى اله وصحبه وسلم - Quarter bound with flap, in golden brown leather and marbled paper. Yellow paper pastedowns. - Treatise of uncertain authorship in thirty chapters (bāb), on ʻilm al-ḥurūf and other occult sciences, with charts of talismans. See M. Ullmann, Die Geheim-..., p. 392, n. 2. In this copy, the text is divided in two parts. The text is followed on fol. 67b-68b by several fāʼidah by the same hand, and by a short text on the 22 mansūkhāt as transmitted from the Prophet Muḥammad, with zoological metaphors, on fol. 69a-b (thicker paper).
