Notlar Ms. codex.Title from illuminated title-page (fol. 2a).Physical description: 31 lines per page. Written in small naskh in black ink with use of dark red. Marginal annotations by a maghribī hand (same as the collation statement dated 1108 (in Western numerals) on fol. 131b). This hand also adds the words "ṣallá Allāhu ʻalayhi wa-sallam" between the lines. Fol. 1 and 132 are later additions. Quinions; central bifolio of each quire marked by signs in the corners. Title on tail of text block: "al-Maṣābīḥ". The pages have been trimmed so that part of the marginalia and the decoration is lost (parts of the pages are forlded to preserve notes). Stained with water; worm-eaten; extremely fragile.Decoration: Illuminated title-page (ʻunwān) on fol. 2a, executed in gold, blue, red, white and black. The panel is defined by a frame in gold outlined in black and divided in two uneven parts. The upper part is occupied by a cartouche bearing the title in white in stylized "kufic" script. The lower part has a scalloped roundel bearing the name of the author on a ground left plain, and corner pieces. The panel is outlined in blue, as is the small roundel on the left side of the upper cartouche (partly wanting due to the trimming of the page).Origin: The date of copy is not mentioned. Apparently 14th or 15th century.Incipit: باب الايمان باب الكباير ...
