Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red; yāʼ for alif maqṣūrah. European paper with watermark. Fol. 2 consists of a later piece of paper pasted on the recto of an original leaf. Several inscriptions on fol. 2a, including collational notes and ownership statements. Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals (omits the first leaf).Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Sh 70". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "1443/2 Ḥ".Incipit: بسم ... رب يسر يا كريم الحمد لله الذي انزل على عبده الكتاب ولم يجعل له عودا قيما ... وبعد فلما كانت ساير العلوم مستنبطة من الكتاب العزيز فاحبت ان اجمع منها بعض اشيا مختصرة ليسهل تناولها - According to Rippin, abridgment of al-Wāḥidī's Asbāb al-nuzūl by an unknown author. Divided into two books: Kitāb asbāb nuzūl al-āyāt (consists of reports from al-Wāḥidī, without isnāds) and Kitāb asbāb al-nuzūl (consists of excerpts from al-Suyūṭī's al-Itqān fī ʻulūm al-Qurʻān).
