Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥ 990".Origin: According to colophons of Juzʼ 1 and 2, copied by Aḥmad ibn Ismāʻīl ibn al-ʻImād al-Dimashqī ... al-Shāfiʻī ... al-Ashʻarī ... Gilt tooling on spine. Orange paper pastedown and free endpaper. - Neat copy of a treatise on the readings of the Qurʼān, in two parts. The copy becomes more dense toward the end of each juzʼ.
