Several inscriptions on pastedowns, folios between texts, and last three folios.Collation: Paper ; fol. 65 ; catchwords ; foliation in red ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.Layout: 13-15 lines per page ; ruled.Description: Rubricated ; overlining in red ; vowel signs ; watermarks (1st work: [unidentified] with roman-alphabet countermark "VJ[?]" with a clover; 2nd work: crown-star-crescent with roman-alphabet countermark "RC") ; MS in good condition but several folios are worm-eaten and mended.Decoration: Diagrams in red and black ink illustrating prosody.Origin: [Kitāb al-Shāfiyah] Copied at the end of Rabīʻ I, 1047 (fol. 41b) -- [Muqaddimah fī ʻilm al-arūḍ] Copied 27 Rajab 1062 (fol. 59a).Incipit: [كتاب الشافية] الحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله على سيدنا المرسلين وعلى اله واصحابه اجمعين وبعد فقد سألنى من لا يسعني -- [مقدمة في علم الاروض] بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله ذي الطول الشديد -- [كتاب الثاني في القوافى] اعلم ان علم القوافى علم شريف نسبته الى العروضColophon: [كتاب الشافية] تمت الكتاب بعون الله تعالى في اواخر ربيع الاول سنة 1047 [مقدمة في علم الاروض] تم الكتاب بعون الله الملك الوهاب في 27 في رجب الفرد فيها سنة اثنين وستين والف -- [كتاب الثاني في القوافى] کقول عبيد بن الابرص افقر من اهله محلوب. فالقطبيات - Quarter-bound type III (without flap) binding in brown leather and marbled paper. - A famous introductory treatise to the study of grammatical inflection by Ibn al-Ḥājib followed by a work in two parts, the first dealing with prosody and the second with rhyme.
