Notlar ff. 30. 240 x 150; 170 x 85 mm. 23 lin. 1302 H.The preface tells the following story about the origin of this work: Samhand al-ʻĀʼidī composed a book on the principles of judicial astrology and deposited the three copies he had made in the treasuries of the kings of Hind, Ṣīn, and Rūm, where only princes had access to them. The copy deposited in the treasury of the kings of Greece came into the hands of Hermes Trismegistos, who made a Greek translation bearing his own name; he also prepared an extract which he made public under the title Kitāb al-Asrār. The book then reached Pythagoras, who corrected the text and translated it into Nabatean. Later, the book came into the possession of Buzurgmihr, who made Arabic and Persian versions. Kirmānī emended it and restored the original arrangement.
