Notlar Ms. codex.Title from fol. 1a (later hand, mentioning Kashf al-ẓunūn).Physical description: 10 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh with elements of ruqʻah(?) (professional hand) in black ink with use of red. The text is vocalized. European aper with watermark, glossy. Several fāʼidah by a later hand on fol. 1b-2a, one with sayings of the prophet Muḥammad on the moments of the day, another on the days of the week. Lower margin worm-eaten.Two spine labels (vertical), reading respectively: "Irshād al-murīdīn fī ḥikāyāt al-ṣāliḥīn li- ibn al-Jawzī" (in Arabic script), and "78" (in Arabic and Western numerals).Origin: Copy completed in Shaʻbān 1003 [April-May 1595] by Aḥmad ibn Ḥaydar ibn Ḥasan Shīrawī (colophon, fol. 123b).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى نوّر قلوب العارفين بنور المعرفة والايقان وطهّرها من ظلمة الغفلة والطغيان ... قال مولف هذا الكتاب سالنى ولدى علا الدين على حفظه الله تعالى ان اجمع له مختصرا فى علم التصوف واذكر فيه من الايات الكريمة والاحاديث الغريبةExplicit: قال الله تعالى وان ليس للانسان الا ما ينبغى وان سعيه سوف يرى ثم يحزاه الجزآء الاوفى والله اعلم - Quarter-bound with flap, in olive-green cloth and dark brown leather. Paper pastedowns. - Treatise on sufism, with illustrations from the lives of saints, based on the Risālah al-Qushayrīyah, Nuzhat al-nāẓirīn, etc. (see preamble, fol. 3a).
