Notlar Ms. codex.Title from preamble (fol. 2a, l. 1). The name of the author of text 1 reads "al-Shīrāzī" or "al-Shayzāzī" on fol. 1b.19 lines per page. Written in clear square naskh in black ink with use of red for keywords, larger script in red for headings. The text is framed within a single red line with a single black line on each side. Light cream paper, glossy, with laid lines and pulp visible. Fol. 24b left blank, with frame. Text on the margin written in the same script, with larger script in black for headings. Lower edge of fol. 1 wanting, mended, with a modern folio pasted on the recto of the original leaf.Catchword on the verso of each leaf. Catchword at the end of the margin on the recto of each leaf (fol. 1b-17b). According to catchwords, fol. wanting between fol. 3 and 4 ; 16 and 17.Copy completed on Yawm al-Sabt 2 Muḥarram 982 [April 24, 1574] by ʻAlī ibn Mūsá ibn ʻAlī ibn Mūsá al-Rashīdī for (bi-rasm) Sayyidī Aḥmad ibn Sayyidī ʻAbd al-Qādir (colophon, fol. 24a).Incipit: قال عبد الرحمن بن نصر بن عبد الله الشيزازي رحمه الله اردنا ان نذكر في كتابنا هذا شيا من اسرار النسآء التي تدعو الى مواقعتهنExplicit: ويطرح فى عدس مطبوخ بخل ويوكل فان ذلك يقطع الشهوة والله سبحانه وتعالي اعلم بالصواب تم الكتاب بحمد الله وعونه وحسن توفيقه - Paper pasted on paper pasteboards with brown leather edges for upper and lower covers, and envelope flap. Brown leather spine and fore-edge flap. Paper pastedowns. damaged. - Defective copy of a treatise on women and their characteristics in view of sexual intercourse, and on means to increase sexual desire, in 10 chapters (bāb, see table of contents on fol. 2a-b ; on fol. 2a, refererence to al-juzʼ al-awwal min Asrār al-nisāʼ). On the margin, Kitāb Manāfiʻ al-ḥayawān by ʻĪsá ibn ʻAlī (or ʻAlī ibn ʻĪsá) al-Mutaṭabbib, written by the same hand.
