Notlar	Ms. codex.Title from title page (fol. 1a).Physical description: 23 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh (professional hand) in black ink with use of red for entries and headings. Thick dark cream paper, hardly translucid, with laid lines and pulp visible; some orange-peach leaves. Between fol. 1 and fol. 2 is a smaller leaf with text on the verso. The quires (mainly quinions) are numbered using Arabic ordinals in the form "Thāniyah" (see fol. 10a; often cut off) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf up to the middle of each quire and on the last fol. of each quire. Fore-edge flap label (horizontal) with title. Worm-eaten; wear on first leaf with loss of text; stained with humidity; extremely fragile.Origin: According to colophon, copy completed by ʻAlī ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Maḥmūd on 3 Muḥarram 733 [Sept. 24, 1332], from an autograph copy. The colophon is followed by a copy in the same hand of an audition statement in the name of the author, dated beginning of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 624 [Oct. 1227], probably found by the copyist on his exemplar (fol. 181b-182a). See also hardly legible inscription on the margin of the colophon (fol. 181b).Incipit: حرف الفآء باب فالج وفائج ومائج اما فالج لفتح الفآء وكسر اللام واخره جيم [---] وفالج الات...؟ ادرك النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم واكل الدم في الجاهليةExplicit: على ثلثة فراسخ من سمرقند يروي عن ابى النض(؟) بن محمد بن احمد بن الحكم البزان السمرقندي كتبنا عنه بسمرقند فى نيف وسبعين وثلثماية اخر الكتاب والحمد لله ربّ العالمين وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد واله وسلّم - Third volume of a supplement to al-Ikmāl, a dictionary of similar and easily confounded names of traditionists, by Ibn Mākūlā al-ʻIjlī (d. 475/1082).
