Notlar Ms. codex.Title from beginning of text (fol. 7b, l. 12).Physical description: 20-21 lines per page. Written in medium small casual taʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Marginal annotations. Catchword on the verso of each leaf. Foliation in black ink using Arabic numerals (starts with "1" on fol. 8a). Several inscriptions on fol. 3a. On fol. 3b: Table of contents apparently by the same hand as the main text. Fol. 4-6 are later added European paper leaves, with a more detailed table of contents by a later hand. On fol. 1a-2b and 130a, 131a-133a: Short texts in ottoman Turkish, some excerpted from Baḥr al-Maʻārif by Surūrī, others to Munlā Jāmī. Title on the tail of the text block (hardly legible). Note on the rent of a house dated Ramaḍān 983 [Jan. 1576] on fol. 130b. Folios 53-63 moved to correct position after folio 80.Two spine labels (vertical), with inscriptions reading respectively "Rawḍat al-daqāʼiq fi sharḥ al-ḥadāʼiq wa-huwa Sharḥ Mukhtaṣar al-Rashīd al-Waṭ[wāṭ]" (in Arabic script) and "321" (in Arabic and Western numerals).Origin: Copied by the author, Shaykh Maḥmūd ibn Adʹham at the end of Rajab 899 [May 1494] (colophon, fol. 129b).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى خلق الانسان علّمه البيان وفضّله على البرايا ببدايع الاحسان ... اما بعد فلما كان علم البلاغة وتوابعها من اجل العلوم قدرا وادقّها سرّا ... The commentary is dedicated in the preamble to the Sulṭān Bāyazīd Khān ibn al-Sulṭān Muḥammad Khān [Bayezid II, d. 918/1512] (fol. 8a).
