Light cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines, and fibers, visible ; frame-ruled. Marginal annotations, apparently by the same hand as the main text (some by another hand on vol. 6 and 8). Catchword on the verso of each leaf. Some quires (quinions) are numbered (see vol. 4, fol. 110a ; vol. 6, fol. 40a). Mention "waqf" on the upper margin of some leaves. Upper and lower covers have a central panel outlined by fillets, with the inner corners demarcated by fillets filled with impressions of a cross motif stamp and gold dots. The central motif is a roundel surrounded by thirteen petals. The roundel consists of a central eight petal flower motif inscribed in a eight-pointed star motif, itself inscribed in circular fillets. Some spaces defined by these motifs are filled with impressions of a small stamp and gold dots. Large border made of fillets and a running pattern of stamp impressions. Vol. 7 has a envelope flap with a large border consisting of fillets and a running pattern and a large roundel consisting of a six-pointed star inscribed in circular fillets on its point. Vol. 8 has an envelope flap with a larger border made of fillets and a running pattern consisting of impressions of a small stamp. The triangular space defined by the border and the edge of the flap is divided in three parts demarcated by fillets and filled with a geometrical pattern and a floral motif. Envelope flap missing in vol. 6. Leather embossed doublure visible on vol. 6 and 8, covered by paper on vol. 7. Vol. 4 is bound in brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Both covers are similarly blind and gold tooled with a large border consisting of fillets, guilloche, and running patterns, and a large central motif consisting of a central roundel with large pendants on the vertical axis. The envelope flap has a similar border, with a roundel surrounded by ten petals on its point. Traces of a leather embossed doublure on the last folios. Spine label with the inscription "302" in Arabic numerals. All the volumes are disbound. - Four volumes from a set of ten (the first with a different binding) of the Jāmiʻ al-ṣaḥīḥ.

Kaynak Waqf statement in the name of al-Ashraf al-Sayfī(?) Azbak atābak al-ʻasākir al-manṣūrah al-Malakī al-Ashrafī(?), for the Mosque of Azbakī(?), dated Ramaḍān 890(?) [1485] (vol. 4, fol. 1a ; vol. 6, fol. 1a, vol. 7, fol. 1a, vol. 8, fol. 1a). Vol. 4 and 7 have several impressions in blue of a rectangular waqf stamp (200 x 650 mm., with inscription beginning with "Yā Rabb anta Allāh ... waqafa hādhā al-Sayyid ʻAbd al-Bāqī al-Bakrī ...").
