The covers are similarly blind-tooled, with a central roundel outlined by fillets surrounded by three-sepalled calices with a small receptacle. Flecks radiate from the upper sepale. The roundel is filled with impressions of a small floral motif stamp. Elaborate outer frame consisting of fillets and a frame with a running pattern. The inner corners are delineated by fillets, and comprise three impressions of a circular stamp with an inscription in Arabic. Similar outer frame on the envelope flap, with a roundel on its point. The plain roundel defined by two fillets encompasses a smaller roundel filled with impressions of the same floral motif stamp found on the covers, which joins the outer roundel on its left side and has a cross motif and three round stamps on its right side. The space defined by the outer edge of the plain roundel and the inner edge of the outer frame is filled with impressions of the same small floral motif stamp. Leather doublure. - Treatise in seven parts (faṣl) on the Pyramids of Egypt, a summary of what pertains to this topic from the author's Kitāb al-Jawharah al-Yatīmah fi akhbār Miṣr al-qadīmah, Kitāb Maṭliʻ al-ṭāliʻ al-saʻīd fī akhbār al-Ṣaʻīd and Kitāb al-Adwār wa-al-fatarāt (see preamble, fol. 3a). This copy apparently collated with a copy read in front of the author and bearing his handwriting (see collation statement on fol. 82a). The ed. by U. Haarmann (1991) uses this copy.
