Foliation in pencil using Western numerals.Copied at the end of Jumādá al-Ulá 1050 (or 1005?) by Ḥasan ibn ʻAlī (colophon, fol. 227a).Incipit: الحمد لله الذي جعلني من علماء البيان و المعانىExplicit: وبالغت فى زاره(؟) باللطايف لانّ كلستآن موضع الفرح غفر الله تعالى له ولي وسائر المسلمين تم شرح الكلستان في آخر - Pare pasted over brown leather on paper pasteboards. Lower cover is wanting. - Arabic commentary on the Gulistān of Saʻdī. In the introduction, the author states that he composed this work for the sultan Muṣtafá ibn Sulaymān (d. 960/1553). The date of composition of the text is left blank in this copy (see fol. 227a: "tamma Sharḥ al-Gulistān fī ākhar"). In other copies at Princeton, it is given as Rabīʻ al-Thānī 957.
