Notlar Ms. codex.Title from title page (fol. 4a).Number of lines per page varies (18-22). Two types of European paper, with some of the leaves, mostly at the beginning and the end of the copy, apparently later replacements (compare fol. 135 and 136). On the original leaves, written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red. Larger script in red for headings. Use of yellow ink on the replacement leaves. The name of the maqāmah and its number in the form "al-Ḥalwānīyah 2" (see fol. 9a)is written in black ink on the upper corner of the verso of most leaves. Marginal and interlinear annotations. On fol. 1a and 1(bis)b-4b, several texts and inscriptions in different hands, including verses of poetry in Ḍāʼ-alif attributed to Yūsuf Luʼluʼ al-Dhahabī (fol. 1a, 13 lines), a short excerpt from Kitāb Akhbār al-zamān by al-Masʻūdī (fol. 3a), verses of poetry attributed to al-Sharīf al-Raḍī al-Mūsawī (fol. 4b). Fol. 1b-1(bis)a: Blank. Short texts and inscriptions on fol. 140b-144a. Inscription in Arabic script in red pencil on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Raqm ʻ[ayn] 163". Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals (omits a leaf after fol. 1). This record follows the faulty modern foliation.Copy completed on 26 Rajab 1149. This date appears on one of the apparently later replacaments in a note refering to "hādhihi al-ziyādah". See also the ownership statement mentioning the name of the copyist of "hādhihi al-ziyādah", Aḥmad ibn [Ibrā]hīm(?) ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-ʻNī(?), on the margin of the colophon (fol. 140b).Incipit: قال الشيخ الريس ابو محمد القسم بن على الحريري رضي الله عنه اللهم انا نحمدك على ما علمت من البيان والهمت من التبيان ... [5ب] ... وبعد فانّه قد جرى ببعض اندية الادب الذي ركدت في هذا العصرِ ريحهExplicit: فقال اجعل الموت نصب عينك وهذا فراق بيني وبينك فودعته وعبراتي تتحدرن من المأقي وزفراتي يتصدعن من التراقي وكانت هذه خاتمة التلاقي قال الشيخ الامام الرئيس ابو محمد القسم بن علي الريري رحمه الله هذا اخر المقامات التي انشاتها بالاغترار وامليتها بلسان الاضطرار وقد الجئت الى ان ارصدتها للاستعراض وناديت عليها في سوق الاعتراض هذا مع معرفتى بانها من سقط المتاع ... ولكن كان ذلك في الكتاب مسطورا وانا استغفر الله مما اودعتها من اباطيل اللغو واضاليل اللهو واسترشده الى ما يعصم من السهو ... وولي الخيرات في الدنيّ والاخره تم اعتذار المولف - Red leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower cover. Both covers have a blind tooled border consisting of fillets on both sides of a large inversed s-shape running pattern. Paper pastedowns. Disbound. - Copy of the Maqāmāt al-Ḥarīrī.
