The text is framed within a grey-blue line (with gold and black lines on fol. 2b-3a). Dark cream paper with laid lines visible. Fol. 247-256 are later replacements on glazed European paper with watermark. Illuminated headpiece (ʻunwān) in blue, red, gold, green, black, with a basmallah in white on fol. 2b. Ḥāshīyah on the margins. Fol. 1 is a later fly-leaf, with inscriptions. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "al-Ḥikmah 13". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 979". Some leaves are damaged.Completed by Darwīs[h] ʻAlī, known as Zaynīʹzādah (colophon, fol. 255b, probably refering to the last folios only).Incipit: اما بعد حمد الله فاطر ذوات العقول النوريةExplicit: وهى ان النفس قوة مجرّدة عن المادّة لما مرّ فى الالهيات وليكن هذا آخر ما اردنا ايراده فى هذه الرسالة ولواهب العقل الحمد بلا نهاية - Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers are similarly blind-tooled with a central mandorla and an outer frame made of fillets. Paper pastedowns. Spine damaged. - Commentary on Ḥikmat al-ʻayn by Najm al-Dīn al-Kātibī (d. 675/1276?).
