Title on tail of text block.Hardly legible inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "433/2 Ḥ".Origin: According to colophon, copy completed on Thursday 2 Ṣafar 1262 [Jan. 1846] by al-Ḥājj ʻAlī al-Dāghistānī (fol. 116a).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى اودع رقوم الحروف بدايع اسراره وركّب منها معانى اسمائه وفجّر فيها ينابيع الاعداد ... اما بعد فقد سالنى بعض المحبين ابان الله لى ولهم معالم التحقيق وسلك بنا وبهم مناهج اهل التحقيق ان اضع لهم كتابًا فى سر علم الحروف وروحانية الاسماء وما كتموه ارباب هذا الشان من اسرار صنعة الحكماء ومواهب العلماء ... الباب الاول فى سر الحروف حرف الالف صورته هكذاExplicit: يقول لك الساعة الفلانية والطالع الفلانى يجتمع معه فى اليوم [116أ] الفلانى وهو ما يعتمد عليه وبالله التوفيق لا ربّ غيره ولا معبود سواه والحمد لله ربّ العالمين وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد نبى المختار وعلى آله وصحبه الاخيار - Quarter bound with flap, in red leather and blue marbled paper.
