Fol. 1 loose.Collation: Paper, fol. 40 ; 1-4¹⁰ ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.Inscription in Arabic script in pencil on fol. 1a: "ʻUmūm 1874" and "Maʻārif dīnīyah 583".Inscription in Arabic script on a spine label: "Sharḥ al-Ājurrūmīyah al-taṣawwuf numrah 559".Origin: Copy completed on Thursday 8 Rajab 1087 [Sept. 16, 1676] by ---? [ciphered] Ibn al-Ḥājj Muḥammad (colophon, fol. 38b).Incipit: يقول العبد الفقير الى الله الغني به عن من سواه على بن ميمون ابن ابي بكر بن علي بن ميمون الادريسي ثم الحسني المغربي المنشا النزيل الان الصالحية الجمشقية كلاها الله بمنه كامن امر الله الاجتماع مع بعض الفقرا من الاخوان بالصالحية المذكورة فى النصف الاخير من شهر رجب الفرد سنه خمس عشرة وتسعمايه فخطر ببالي قول الشيخ الجرومي رحمه الله ورضى عنه النعت تابع المنعوت ... الى اخر المسئلة فاجري الله من فضله على جنابي ما انطق به لساني من معاني التوحيدExplicit: يفعل فقد خسر ومازح هذا بعض ما يجب على الشيخ والمريد من الشروط والاداب في السلوك ولقد شا الله قبل هذا التاريخ بذكر شي من الشروط في الكتاب المسمى بتذكرة السالكين من اراد ذلك فلينظره هنالك والله المسؤل بفضله وفضله انتهى وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى اله وتصحيحه وسلمIncipit of poem (fol. 39b): تادب بباب الدين واخلع به النعل وسلم على الرهبان واحطط بهم رحلا وعظم به القسيس ان شائت حظوة - Golden brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. The covers are similarly blind stamped and tooled with a central stamped mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis and an outer border consisting of fillets and a running pattern consisting of impressions of a s-shape stamp. Similar border on the envelope flap with small stamp on its pointe. Paper pastedowns. - Commentary on a work on grammar, the al-Ājurrūmīyah by Ibn Ājurrum (d. 723/1323), showing how Arabic language reveals the unicity of God (tawḥīd). The text is followed on fol. 39b-40b by a poem in lām-alif attributed to al-Shaṭrī, apparently written by another hand.
