Written in a clear small naskh with elements of nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Text within a double line frame in red ink. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Foliation in Arabic numerals in black ink and in Western numerals in pencil. Glazed dark cream paper with visible laid lines and prominent fibres. Marginal annotations in a later hand throughout, most heavily at the beginning of the text. Ff. 1a-2b have table of contents outlined in red ink. Ff. 4a-4b have an untitled text on grammar written in a different hand in a casual small naskh in black ink and within a frame outlined with three lines in red ink. Another text in the same hand on ff. 168b-169a. Several short texts on ff. 167b-168a in at least three different hands, consisting of a couple of duʻāʾs and a ḥadīth in Arabic and one inscription in Ottoman and one in Persian. Several short inscriptions in three different hands and 3 obliterated square seals on fol. 5a. Ownership statement by Abī Ibn ʻAbd al-Ḥusayn Ḍiyāʾ al-Dīn al-Khurāsānī, accompanied by his seal, on fol. 3a. Another ownership statement in English on the same fol. and reads: "This book belong to Shaikh Zia al Din s/o Shaikh Mohd. sadik Khalici, 9-10-38".Incipit: الحمد لوليه ... اما بعد فهذه فوائد وافية بحل مشكلات الكافية للعلامة المشتهر فى المشارق والمغارب الشيخ ابن الحاجبExplicit: قد استراح من مكد الانتهاض لنقل هذا الشرح من السواد الى البياض العبد الفقير عبد الرحمن الجامى وفقه الله سبحانه فى وظايف عبوديته للاعراض من مطالبة الاعواض وللاعراض ضمت البيت الحادى عشر من رمضان المعظم فى سلك شهور سنة سبع وتسعين وثمانمائة من الهجرة النبي - Brown leather with blind tooled border design made with blind roll and corner fleurons. The work was written for his son Ḍiyāʾ al-Dīn and was completed on Saturday, the 11th of Ramaḍān 897 (1492).
