Notlar According to the Encyclopaedia of Islam, this work is a recasting of Kalīlah wa-Dimnah based on the Persian translation of Abū al-Maʻālī Naṣr Allāh. It was done at the suggestion of Niẓām Dīn Amīr Shaykh Aḥmad al-Suhaylī, a Turkish amīr at the court of Abū al-Ghāzī Sulṭān Ḥusayn Bāyqarā in order to simplify the difficult style of Abū al-Maʻālī. Abū al-Maʻālī's first two chapters are omitted, reducing the book to 14 chapters. The Ottoman Turkish translation of the work, entitled Hümāyūn-nāme by ʻAlī Čelebi, became widely known in Europe, and its translation into French is one of the sources of La Fontaine's Fables., Lithographed Nastaʻlīq hand; text rubricated. | In Persian.
