The author states that 'the people of this time of ours' (ahl zamāninā hādhā) like reading conquest literature, so he has borrowed from the futūḥ works of both Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Ṭalamankī [al-Maʻāfirī] and Muḥammad ibn ʻUmar al-Wāqidī and produced his own volume.
