Örnek Metin This is the story of an archaeological excavation carried out at Gre Amer mound, soon to be flooded by the rising waters of the Ilisu Dam in Turkey. Part of the Ilisu excavations that started in 1998, the Gre Amer excavations began in 2009 and soon revealed an extraordinary settlement that hosted many civilizations, represented by its many layers. A cradle of civilization was thus unearthed by the banks of the Garzan Brook, a tributary of the Tigris River. This story itself comes in many layers, beginning with the tale of an archaeologist named Gül Pulhan, whose life went in a new direction after she chanced upon a potsherd while roaming the excavation sites behind the Ilisu Dam. She is one who could read the entire history of a civilization from the cuneiform script on its potsherds.
