Three verses in upper framing; ketubah text in nine lines. Item decorated: outer and inner framing dark blue outlined with faux gilt and orange, in a carpet tile and filigree (probably created on a form or with paper quilling); inner frame design elements include rhombus patterns and jeweled rosettes in greens and blues (perhaps attempting to imitate appliqué on textiles); the motif is reminiscent of an Islamic or Persian manuscript carpet page.
