The work contains brief biographies of famous scholars and sufis divided in 10 classes (ṭabaqāt) during the rule of the Ottoman sultans from ʿOthmān ibn Arṭughrul Ghāzī (ruled 724/1324-761/1360; EI2 VIII/190) to Sulaymān ibn Salīm Qānūnī the Magnificent (ruled 926/1520-974/1566; EI2 IX/832-834). ʿAlī ibn Bālī Manqʿs supplement, that follows strictly the arrangement of the Shaqā'iq al-Nuʿmānīyah, deals with famous scholars who lived during the last years of Sulaymānʾs rule until the beginning of the rule of  Mūrād ibn Salīm (ruled 982/1574-1003/1595; EI2 VII/595-597). ff. 6, 11, 14, 23 are written by another hand The name under which ʿAlī ibn Bālī is known is given as Mangh (f. 1a) in our manuscript and as Čamanq by Ḥājjī Khalīfah. In the Berlin manuscript no. 9883 he is additionally named as Lubthī Zāda. ff. 1a-3a: table of content by another hand
