Notlar	brown leather binding — paper — One of 3 major works Shīrāzī wrote on theoretical astronomy (hayʾa): the Nihāyat al-idrāk fī dirāyat al-aflāk (The highest attainment in comprehending the orbs), was dedicated to the vizier Shams al-Dīn al-Juwaynī and completed in November 1281. It is divided into 4 parts: an introduction, a section on the structure of the celestial region, a section on the structure of the terrestrial region, and a section on the sizes and distances of the celestial and terrestrial bodies. * The title appears in the preface along with the author's name; it is also stated on the title page (in red ink): Risālat al-hayʾat min kalām Mawlānā Quṭb al-Dīn Šīrāzī adāma Allāh ẓilāl jalālih, indicating that Šīrāzī is still alive. The original portion of this codex was copied before 711 ‌‎[1311], which is Šīrāzī’s death date; folios 21-30, 43-107, 123-179 were added later. This witness contains 2 different hands; some 62 diagrams; and corrections and glosses throughout. There are (at least) 2 ownership notes: 1) Ġiyāṯ al-Dunyā wa-al-Dīn Amīr Ibrāhīm, dated the end of Ḏū al-Qaʿdaẗ 726 [1326] (f.0a); and 2) ʿAbd al-Ḥayy ibn ʿAbd al-Razzāq al-Riḍawī (plus his seal); and study notes: 1) Muḥammad ibn(?) Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Ījī, read in the presence of Burhān al-Ḥaqq wa-al-Dīn (l.0a); and 2) Šaykh Ḥa<ssān>(?), dated(?) 126013(?) (f.0a).
